Canadian Individual Model Boxes
Illustrated here are the main window box types / designs used for individual Canadian models.
The boxes came in various sizes. Up to four different sizes were used for each box type:
the shortest being used for freight cars such as the CN Hopper and Polysar Tank Cars, etc.
the longest being used for the Flat Cars with Containers
Tri-ang Railways - 1965 - used with the first Canadian issued models
Tri-ang Hornby - 1st issue - used from 1966 onwards
Tri-ang Hornby - 2nd issue
Tri-ang Hornby 'Bubble Pack' - Type 1 - with dual language card label in English and French - introduced in January 1971
Locally produced emergency packaging for surplus unboxed models.
