Tri-ang Minic Motorways HO Gauge "Slot" Road Racing
Alongside the attempted re-launch of Tri-ang HO Gauge Railroads in the US, Minic Motorways was far from forgotten. In fact there seems to have been more variety of supporting advertising literature available than for the railways. A special four page illustrated priced catalogue issued in September 1962, with printers reference ‘20M/962’ and marked ‘Printed in USA’, was produced which also featured a Motorways-Railways Combination Set - the rare export version of the RMA Set which included the green Transcontinental Diner and Coach - and made mention of Arkitex buildings and Tri-ang Railways.
Again, to support this a Tri-ang HO Minic Motorways Trade Price List And Order Form (Aug. 1962), 2nd Edition Minic Motorways Catalogue together with a
single-sided promotional leaflet, similar in style to the railway leaflet, were provided to the retailer. Much of these initial marketing materials were still arriving in stores as late as Mid-October. Later, a second single-sided promotional leaflet was produced, promoting Minic Motorways as ‘Slot Racing’; this reached stores around the end of October 1962. |
