Canadian Tri-ang Railways - Tri-ang Layout at Warley Show 2017
An absolute extravaganza of Tri-ang Canadian Railways featuring Canadian National, Canadian Pacific and CP Rail together with the odd USA interloper.
Seen at the annual Warley Exhibition, in the UK, the 'loose-lay' layout included all-things Tri-ang.
Three main sections included: an Alpine display, Engine Sheds together with an extensive Freight Depot and Harbour, and a raised section featuring predominantly Arkitex Buildings with Minic Motorways. Elevated Tracks and countless Bridges, Model-Land Buildings, Tri-ang Minic Push 'n Go models,
Minic Motorways Road/Rail, Harbour/Ferries and Buildings all abound, together with many rare items, triple-header diesels, long rakes of coaches and freight cars, to name but a few. Simply stunning and fascinating to watch !
The layout was designed by Les Martin and built by Les Martin, Dave White, Neil Smith, Neil Bowsher, Steve Smith and Bob Leggett. Video by Neil Smith.

Canadian Tri-ang Railways - Tri-ang Layout at Alresford Show 2017
A mammoth 24 foot Tri-ang Transcontinental Railways 'loose-lay' layout featuring Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, CP Rail together with Tri-ang 'Transcontinental' trains, including Australian and New Zealand Models, displayed at the annual Alresford Festival of Toy Trains, in the UK.
Les Martin's layout, assisted by Dave White, Neil Smith and Paul Rees, had seven tracks running all day long. A high level area had also been created in the middle where the trains left the boards to go through 'The Rockies' (Airfix Monte Carlo boards). You can even spot a Tri-ang Cable Car Set ! Video by Neil Smith.

Canadian Tri-ang Railways & Minic Motorways at Leicester Show 2017
Dave White's Tri-ang Road-Rail layout at the Train Collectors Society Annual General Meeting 2017 Show, in Leicester UK.
Dave White, with help from Les Martin and Neil Smith, ran Tri-ang OO/HO Gauge Canadian Pacific and Canadian National stock together with Minic Motorways and filled their board with plenty of Tri-ang scenery. The cars and trains shared the Road-Rail Track whilst the cars 'hit' the Road-Rail Track millimetres in front of the train. Excellent goods yards and plenty of Arkitex Buildings with lights made for a very colourful layout. Video by Neil Smith.

Canadian Tri-ang Railways - Canadian Tri-ang at Beckenham Show 2012
Seen at Beckenham Vintage Train Show 2012, in the UK, was this fantastic Tri-ang 'Canadian' layout by Les Martin, featuring Canadian Pacific, CN, CP Rail and
Tri-ang 'Transcontinental' trains. To complement the trains, the buildings are Tri-ang Model-Land, also some Minic Motorways can be seen, with some period accessories. Many thanks are due to Malcolm Pugh for shooting this video; more of his videos can be found at http://www.youtube.com/user/zontarfan/videos

Minic Motorways & Tri-ang Railways Road / Rail Layout
Another one of Malcolm Pugh's videos... This superb Tri-ang Minic Motorways and Tri-ang Hornby Super 4 railway layout, by Dave White, was displayed at the Beckenham Vintage Train Show in April 2011. A train approaching a road crossing automatically stops the slot roadway vehicles, once the train is clear, the roadway is re-energised, and the vehicles circulate. A magnet under the loco trips and resets a relay, which controls power to the stop sections.
The sharp-eyed will spot the change of vehicle halfway-through !

Green Mountain ALCO RS1 #405 on Snowplow duty 02.01.1990
A video of an old ALCO RS-1, which is what the Tri-ang R.155 is supposed to be... well, actually, it was meant to be an RS-2, but they were essentially the same.
It is still in use today on a short tourist line in the north-eastern U.S., and you can hear what one of these engines sounds like.
In addition, it is pushing a Russell Snow Plough, which is what the Tri-ang model is based on. I would say they did a pretty good job of copying the prototype in this case. You would think you are looking at the Tri-ang model when watching this... It has even been painted the right colour..!
This video was shot and edited by Richard "Moose" Ouelette who passed away in November 2011.
