R.1210 Bogie Bolster Wagon with Steel Load - pale grey - B940052

The 'Steel Load' consisted of 12 lengths of System 6 straight track rail.  The rails were taken from the production line before they were notched to accommodate the fishplates.

Note that the metal pin units at each end have been inverted to form retaining hoops.

... And, in case you were wondering why these Bogie Bolster Wagons always have brown glue marks on the pale grey wagon sides - the answer is very simple.  When packaged, the Steel Load was held in place on the wagon by three strips of sticky tape which discoloured very quickly and quite horribly; leaving a residue which is almost impossible to remove without damaging the plastic !
